5 I am getting light or faded print on my print outs. What should I do?
Light or faded print on printouts from your machine may be due to a variety of issues:
1) The toner supply is low. You may be able to temporarily extend the toner cartridge life by removing the cartridge and gently shaking it from side to side. If this does not improve the print quality, install a new toner cartridge.
2) The paper may not meet paper specifications (e.g. the paper is too moist or too rough). You should double-check the paper you are using meets the specifications given on the user manual.
3) If the whole page is light, the print resolution setting is too light or Toner Save Mode may be on. Adjust the print resolution and switch off the Toner Save Mode.
4) A combination of faded and smeared defects may indicate that the toner cartridge needs cleaning. You should refer to the maintenance section of your user manual for instruction on cleaning the toner cartridge. If this does not work, you may need to replace the toner cartridge.
5) The surface of LSU part inside the machine may be dirty. Clean the LSU, for instruction on cleaning the toner cartridge refer to the maintenance section of your user manual.
